Corporate History
1950
Fujita company, established.
Founder, Den Fujita established the independent trading company while a student of Faculty of Law, the University of Tokyo.
1960
Reorganized into company limited.
Fujita & Co., Ltd., started after eleven years from establishment and became a pioneer in brand products. 40 million yen in capital and the selected 15 employees.
1965
The importance of trust in our principles.
We received orders for knives and forks from American Oil. The first order was for 3 million, and the second time it was for 6 million. We ordered the production from a manufacturer, but both times the delivery was just barely on time.
Thus, in order to keep to our deadlines, we chartered a Boeing 707 for 20 million yen, thereby buying trustworthiness. This is just one of many times when our company has stuck to its principles and put reliability first.
1971
McDonald’s Company (Japan), Ltd., established.
First restaurant opened in Ginza.
Import agency business of BORBONESE brand products, started.
1985
Entered the sports business.
Founded Fujisawa Indoor Sports Co., Ltd. (Fujisawa, Kanagawa).
Acquired International Leisure Corporation.
Began managing a wax figure museum on the third floor of Tokyo Tower.
1986
Rental Housings for Foreigners, constructed Shimokitazawa Mac Heights in November.
1989
Mac Sports Plaza Mukogawa opened (Amagasaki, Hyogo).
1990
Toys”R”Us Japan Ltd., established as a joint venture by McDonald’s Japan and the world’s largest toy retail chain, Toys “R”Us Inc. based in U.S.A.
1991
Mac Sports Plaza Kakogawa opened (Kakogawa, Hyogo).
The largest video rental chain in the world, Blockbuster Entertainment Inc. (U.S.), and Fujita & Co., Ltd. invested as equal partners to establish Blockbuster Japan Co., Ltd.
1994
Rental Housings for Foreigners, constructed.
Akatsutsumi Garden House in June.
1995
Signed a contract for exclusive sales in Japan with the largest necktie chain in the world, Tie Rack Inc. (Headquartered in London).
Mac Sports Plaza Ryokuchi Koen opened (Suita, Osaka).
1997
Establishment of Tie Rack Japan Co., Ltd.
Fujita Institute of Future Management Research(FIF),opened.
2000
Fujita & Co. 50th Anniversary.
2002
Nursing Homes, owned.
Granda Yakumo Meguro in February.
Granda Yamate Yokohama in August.
Lifecommune Noborito in October.
2003
Nursing Homes, owned.
Lifecommune Shimosa-Nakayama in June.
2011
Nursing Homes, owned.
Assisted living Inage in January.
Bestlife Takahata, Hino & Makuhari in September.

Headquarters moved.
2013
